The RBS Academy was established in 2022 through which we will identify, train and develop black talent in the short term insurance industry for placement and succession within the industry that will address transformation and skills shortages in the industry. The insurance industry plays a pivotal role in protecting people and livelihoods, and future leaders in the sector must have a strong understanding of ethical and socially responsible practices.

By investing in the development of future leaders, the RBS Academy will help to address the skills shortage and ensure the continued growth and competitiveness of the South African short-term insurance industry. At the same time, it will play an important role in promoting transformation and creating a more inclusive and diverse industry that reflects the makeup of South African society.

The RBS Academy programs will be all-encompassing, encompassing not only academic qualifications and work experience but also training in the soft life and behavioural skills essential for success.
